There is an area between medicine and wellbeing, an area
that involves treatments and services that do not require
a doctor. Ten years ago if you wanted to visit a physiotherapist
and you wanted to claim the treatment on your insurance you
needed to be referred to the physiotherapist by the doctor.
Now insurance companies are waking up to the fact that their
customers want to be able to make judgements about their own
wellbeing without the need to refer to a doctor and it is
possible to receive treatment form specialists such as physiotherapy,
Acupuncture and Osteopathy and have your insurance company
cover the costs without the need for a doctors referral. (Please
check the details of your policy, as this is not standard
across all policies)
Medical therapies available through re-aqua wellbeing and
beauty therapy salons and day spas include acupuncture, chiropody,
colonic hydrotherapy (the same as colonic irrigation), Botox
and Collagen injections, remedial sports massage to name a
few.
Fully trained practitioners give these treatments, some of
who are also fully qualified beauty therapists. Medically
qualified personnel carry some of these treatments out. Where
possible we look to work with individuals who take an integrated
or holistic approach to medicine and therefore combine a number
of different disciplines in the overall treatment of the customer's
condition.
